Introduction
This project involved the meticulous design, fabrication, and commissioning of a new prestress bed facility to support the Mitchell Freeway extension. It required the production of 54 Tee-Roff beams, each with an average weight of 90 tonnes, and the construction of four bridges. To meet the demanding construction schedule, daily casting was carried out. The project featured complex beam connection details to achieve continuous spans, with beam installations completed overnight to minimise disruptions to the public rail system.
